portefeuilletheorie gezien. We hebben gezien dat naarmate we meer gaan diversifiëren, dus meer
aandelen gaan opnemen, gaat het portefeuillerisico naar beneden.
Harry Markowitz en het ontstaan van de theorie
Het portefeuillerisico gaat naar beneden door aandelen te combineren, want dan is de correlatie
coëfficiënt kleiner dan 1.
In dit hoofdstuk gaan we op zoek naar efficiënte portefeuilles. Dit zijn portefeuilles die optimaal zijn
vanuit risicorendementsstandpunt. Dus voor een gegeven risico is er een maximaal rendement, dit is
een rationele keuze. Een belegger kiest steeds voor het hoogste rendement.
Anderzijds: Wanneer een belegging moet kiezen tussen beleggingen met hetzelfde rendement, ga je
kiezen voor de belegging met het laagste risico, dus de laagste standaardafwijking. We gaan er dus
vanuit dat beleggers rationeel zijn.

We gaan er vanuit dat een belegger steeds het risico en het rendement gaat afwegen en hier rationeel
over beslissen. De beleggers zijn risico-afkerig. We kiezen voor de belegging met de kleinste
standaardafwijking en het hoogste verwachte rendement.
