El Estudio del ADNEl ADN es la molécula portadora de la herencia
genética.
1869 Friedrich Miescher
Friedrich Miescher aisló por primera vez el
ADN de núcleos de diferentes células y lo
llamo nucleína, por su composición el nombre
cambio después a ácido nucleico y finalmente
a acido desoxirribonucleico.
Phoebus Levene
Phoebus Levene descubrió el azúcar ribosa y en 1929 la
desoxirribosa y determino dos tipos de ácidos nucleicos ADN y ARN.
A lo largo de 1930 también identifico las bases nitrogenadas
adenina, guanina y citosina en ambos tipos de ácidos, timina en el
ADN y uracilo en el ARN. Levene dedujo que el ADN estaba
conformado por unidades estructurales a las que llamo nucleótidos 1909-
constituidos por una molécula de desoxirribosa, un grupo fosfato y
una base nitrogenada.

1950 Erwin Chargaff
Erwin Chargaff examino el ADN de diferentes especies,
descubrió que las 4 bases no se presentaban en cantidades
iguales, pero que las proporciones de adenina y timina
coincidían al igual que sucedió con las de citosina y
guanina. Por lo tanto, descubrió una regla de equivalencia
matemática. Adenina = Timina y Guanina = Citosina.
