Vergroting van weefsel, met toename van aantal cellen → beenmerg, prostaat of lymfeklieren
Atrofie
Vermindering van grote van weefsel → bij spieren, uterus
Metaplasie
Weefsel verandert. Van het ene soort weefsel naar een ander soort weefsel → baarmoederhals heeft
twee soorten epithelia met een duidelijke scheidingslijn, die lijn kan steeds veranderen onder invloed
van hormonen. Cellen kunnen onrustig worden → kan kanker ontstaan.
Dysplasie
Abnormale ontwikkeling van cellen
Neoplasie
Gezwelvorming, door nieuwvorming van cellen. Kan zowel goed- als kwaadaardig zijn.
Benigne Maligne
Goedaardig Kwaadaardig
(on)gedifferentieerd
De mate waarin het weefsel nog lijkt op het ‘’oude’’ weefsel.
Metastasering
