, 1. LA CRISIS DE LA RESTAURACIÓN
Después de la regencia de María Cristina de Habsburgo, comenzó el reinado de
Alfonso XIII (17 de mayo de 1902). Su reinado estuvo marcado por la crisis de
1898.
1.1 EL COLAPSO POLÍTICO
Al iniciar su reinado, se perdieron colonias y se
impulsaron reformas regeneracionales. Pero el
mantenimiento del caciquismo y la corrupción electoral
provocaron el colapso del sistema de Restauración
(1875).
Las transformaciones iniciadas (industrialización,
urbanización...) aumentaron los desequilibrios sociales.
La decadencia de los partidos dinásticos fue simultáneo
al fortalecimiento de los contrarios (opuestos al
régimen monárquico). Eran los republicanos,
nacionalistas, socialistas y anarquistas.
