Unit 12: Assignment 1 - Examine the IT System
Support and Management Needs and
Characteristics of Different Organisations, Which
Are Essential to Their Operation
I am an IT technician for a PC repair firm, and my manager has approached me
about entering the IT support and management sector to assist local businesses.
My task now is to examine aspects of this market that may be involved, such as
health and safety standards, tools that may be required, and the purpose and
character of this field. I will also compare several forms of IT system assistance,
including internal and external technical help. Tesla and Microsoft are the
companies I'll be discussing.
Purpose and Nature of IT Support and
Management
What is IT System Support and Management
This is the administration of any type of information technology within an
organisation, including the management of software, hardware, and networks, as
well as the upkeep of procedures that handle data and information. IT Support
employees maintain computer systems and networks, address technical
difficulties, and manage all programme installations and device configurations.
Having IT help aids in the management of a company's security by keeping
systems and data safe from cyber-attacks. Continuous monitoring in
collaboration with an IT Support team is possible, and any security problems can
be addressed by installing the most effective security solutions to limit the risk of
network, computer, and data or programme breaches.
How Companies Use IT Support and Management
Microsoft is a multinational software corporation that excels in a variety of IT-
related fields, including cloud computing, video games, computer and gaming
hardware, search, and other online services. Because of the nature of the
organisation, it has a very good support platform, its website. Users can seek for
assistance, locate answers to similar problems they are experiencing that have
already been solved, and contact a worker if necessary. Microsoft also offers
training on current searches and new features that are released. For example,
Windows 11 has an entire movie that covers all of the new features and how you
can personalise it to make it more of your own experience.
Tesla is a worldwide automotive artificial intelligence business that is at the
forefront of the electric vehicle market. Tesla, a well-known IT company, also has
a webpage dedicated to assisting customers who are having problems with their
products. Because Tesla just sells vehicles, accessing information would be easier
and more in-depth, as many buyers would have similar questions. This would
allow the corporation and its employees to track the most common concerns and
make improvements.

System Life Cycle
A critical method utilised in organisations that allows them to function properly in
terms of how smoothly they run, the company's output, and other factors. A
System Life Cycle has a significant impact on how an organisation decides to
boost efficiency in the workplace. Without a well-structured, efficient system
development cycle, organisations may struggle to enhance productivity, putting
them at risk of reputational and even financial loss in the long run. A System Life
Cycle consists of four major stages: design, testing, operation, and
decommissioning.
An organization's image and brand would be created at the design stage. This is
a simple but significant stage in the system life cycle because this is how the
public and their intended audience would perceive them, thus they should create
an appealing logo or maybe a slogan. They would also need to design a structure
for how the workers should operate, set achievable deadlines, and purchase the
necessary resources for the workers. The testing stage would involve putting
the implementation in place, observing how effectively the staff respond and
analysing the company's overall productivity. The major goal of the operation
phase is to ensure that the company is functioning at maximum efficiency and
that total productivity is higher than it was previously. This is accomplished by
evaluating the organization's results, such as sales, profit/revenue, and customer
happiness. With time, the system they put in place will become obsolete and will
no longer be as effective as it was when it was first introduced. The
decommission stage guarantees that the process is terminated in an orderly
manner, allowing for a smooth transition to the next system with minimal risks
and loss.
The Support and Management Needs of an Organisation
IT support and management have become critical components in modern
organisations, which means that those who represent the IT support team must
have a basic understanding of the various components that make a solid IT
support and management plan. I will go through eight fundamental IT support
and management abilities that are required inside a company to grow and
efficiently exploit Technology:
General Troubleshooting Skills, which allow for the helping and service of a
company's staff's demands and requests, are one of the most fundamental but
crucial IT support abilities an organisation need. Having the ability to diagnose a
computer that isn't powering on or why another sort of gadget isn't working how
it is supposed to be an important asset for a corporation. If an enterprise's IT
equipment fails to function effectively, it can be frustrating for employees and
potentially result in a loss of productivity and time, both of which have a
negative impact.
Software Licencing Basics is something worth investing in as a firm,
especially for future businesses, because huge software licencing agreements
may rapidly become expensive, and non-compliance might result in hefty
penalties, which would be a financial loss. The software licence is legal
paperwork that outlines the rules for using and distributing software. Possessing
