• Tunica intima:
o Endotheel met lamina basalis;
o Subendoheliale laag (bindweefsel);
o Lamina elastica interna (elastisch weefsel).
• Tunica media:
o Glad spierweefsel (circulair gerangschikt);
o Lamina elastica externa (elastisch weefsel).
• Tunica adventitia:
o Losmazig bindweefsel;
o Vasa vasorum (bloedvaatjes voor de vaten).
Elastische arteriën
• Dichtst bij het hart (grootste druk);
• Bevat veel elastine (tunica media).
Musculaire arteriën
• Brengt bloed naar specifiek orgaan;
• Relatief veel glad spierweefsel (tunica media);
• Weinig elastine (tunica media);
• Vasomotorvezels regelen de activiteit van het gladde spierweefsel (tunica media);
• Kleine veranderingen in diameter zorgen voor grote invloed op bloedflow en
bloeddruk.
Arteriolen
• Kleinste arteriën;
• Bevat hoofdzakelijk glad spierweefsel (tunica media) en lamina elastica interna;
• Zorgt voor de grootste bloeddruk verlaging;
• Veranderd flow van pulserend naar egaal.
Capillairen
• Bevatten alleen een tunica intima (endotheel).
