opportunities for further training if they are established.

As employees and the organization must work toward mutually beneficial goals, it is
critical to develop an organizational culture based on shared values.
• Set an example
The actions of management speak louder than words. Employees will be self-
motivated if they see management is committed, and self-motivated employees will
help the organization achieve its goals and objectives.
• Be compassionate
Employees have complex lives outside of work that may interfere with their ability to
perform at their best, regardless of how well they are motivated at work. As a result,
management must be aware of employees' personal circumstances and crises.
Employee motivation and work ethic may improve if management is perceived as
compassionate.
• Cross-cultural workplace motivation
It is critical to recognize that South African organizations have a diverse workforce.
Management must remember that while a diverse workforce is likely motivated by
the same factors, diverse cultures may be rooted in different cultural conventions.
When developing motivational strategies, an organization's management must keep
an open mind. They must ensure that the organizational culture is communicated
clearly to all employees, regardless of background or culture.
