Hoorcollege 1: OMFT
Uitgangspunten Oromyofunctionele therapie (OMFT)
"Normaal"  functioneel evenwicht tussen de werking van de verschillende spieren in en rond de mond.
De kauwspieren, de tong, de lippen, de kinspieren etc. oefenen ieder functionele krachten uit op het
gebit. Als bepaalde spieren of spiergroepen niet goed functioneren  gevolg voor de vorm van het gebit
en/of de kaken  gevolg voor de spraak.


Formatie van het gebit
Invloed van 2 krachten:

1. Naar buiten gericht kracht v.d. tong
2. Naar binnen gerichte kracht v.d. lippen en wangmusculatuur

Krachten in harmonie = regelmatig gelaat en goed geformeerd gebit
