1.1.1 The virtual practical is an assessment that will be completed in the comfort of your
own home. It is split into two parts; the video demonstration and written portfolio.

1.1.2 It commences on the 15 of July and students have until the 15 of October to
submit their video demonstration and portfolio.
1.1.3 The student needs to purchase their own equipment and uniform.
1.1.4 The student is responsible for providing ingredients.
1.1.5 Information regarding the practical will be made available on myUnisa. Study material
such as the tutorial letters, YouTube video links and recipe book is uploaded under
additional study resources on the module site. Announcements containing
information about the practical are also posted there. Students need to have access
to myUnisa and check it regularly to see what is required for the practical.
