Noordelijke Rhône – shiraz voor rood:
Gebergte met druivenstokken er tegenaan. Rivier.
Kenmerken van het gebied
- Steile hellingen met terrassen.
- Bodem met veel leisteen en graniet.
- Gematigd landklimaat. (heel koud en heel warm)
- Grote invloed van de mistral. (harde wind, stress voor de druif, schil harder maken)
Harde schil zorgt voor minder mooie wijnen. Om de wijngaarden worden cypressen geplant om
de wind te breken.
