For this M2 I will be comparing how five cultural differences and foreign business environments
affect multinational corporations. I will be making a PEST analysis for the Netherlands. When this is
finished I will compare the PEST from the Netherlands with the PEST I made about Panama. When
comparing I will argue how these environments can have an impact on the operations of the
MediaMarkt.

Political In The Netherlands the politics are really stable,
every four years a new president is chosen and
people have the right to demonstrate. People
are allowed to have criticism on the
government and are allowed to give their
opinion on everything.
Economical The Netherlands have a good economy they are
for example ranked number 15 on the list of
buying power per person. This means that the
people in the Netherlands can buy a lot of
products for the money that they receive from
their work. The GGP of the Netherlands is
$52.249,- which makes the Netherlands ranked
7th in the world. ( source )
Social-cultural In the Netherlands they speak Dutch, Dutch is
only spoken in The Netherlands, Belgium,
Suriname, Namibia, South-Africa and in some
other old colonies of The Netherlands. In The
Netherlands English is spoken very well, the
level of English is so high because children in
the 7 grade of elementary school are though
English. Other languages that are spoken will in
The Netherlands are Spanish, German and
French. ( source )
Technological In The Netherlands the people love technology.
The WI-FI is really good as well as the 4G
network. This is so good because of the high
purchasing power of the Dutch, this results in
people buying luxury products as phones and
laptops. Because a lot of people buy phones
and laptops there is the need of fast internet
and a good working 4G network.

Now I will be compering the PEST of The Netherlands and Panama with each other and I will explain
how these differences impact on the operations of the MediaMarkt.
