Validiteit zegt iets over het meetinstrument. Betrouwbaarheid zegt iets over als je het nog een keer
meet, je dezelfde resultaten krijgt.
Een systematische fout (bias) gaat over validiteit. Een toevallige fout gaat over de betrouwbaarheid.
Bias is vertekening van uitkomsten. Dit komt doordat de resultaten afwijken van de werkelijkheid
door een systematische fout.
Interne validiteit gaat over methodologische validiteit. Externe validiteit gaat over
generaliseerbaarheid.
PICO
PICO kan worden gebruikt in EBP. Het staat voor:
Patiënt/ probleem (wie): dit gaat over de beschrijving van de patiënt(en) en/ of probleem.
Voorbeelden zijn diagnose, leeftijd, geslacht.
Interventie (wat): dit gaat over de behandeling, diagnostisch instrument, risicofactor, prognotische
factor.
Comparison (alternatief): dit gaat over placebo, ‘gouden standaard’ of andere controlegroep
(optioneel).
Outcome (waarom): dit gaat over het resultaat of effect (meetbaar).
