1.1.2 Definities 'Landschapsarchitectuur'
Landschapsarchitectuur = het ontwerpen, plannen en omvormen van de ruimtelijke indeling
van een onbebouwd plangebied.
- Interactie tussen mens en natuur
- Op verschillende schalen
- Raakt aan architectuur en stedenbouw
1.2 Belang van landschap in de 21ste eeuw
1) Maatschappelijke uitdagingen: verandering klimaat, duurzaam omgaan, sociale
uitsluiting,…
2) Het zoeken naar oplossingen in deze uitdagingen speelt een belangrijke rol in hoe we
omgaan met die ruimte en meer bijzonder met het landschap.
1.3. Landschapsarchitectuur, architectuur en stedenbouw
In geschiedenis: architectuur en landschap sterk met elkaar verbonden zijn.
Voorbeelden:
Central Park, Frederick Law Olmsted, Woodland Cemetery, Stockholm,
Calvert Vaux, 19e eeuw Lewerentz en Asplund, vanaf 1917
20ste eeuw: scheiding ontstaan tussen landschap en architectuur.
- Voordeel: Sterke professionalisering binnen landschapsarchitectuur.
- Nadeel: betrokkenheid v/d architect bij landschap is minder sterk.
Eind 20ste eeuw: terug meer aandacht v/h landschap en relatie tussen landschapsontwerp,
stedenbouw en architectuur.
