By the end of the course, the student will be better able to…
Hour 1: By using the TTT method the learner will be able to use English environmental
terms in the future as well as learn to speak these words fluently while having a
conversation in a social situation.
Hour 2: using the PPP method, The student will be able to understand the use and form
of common work-related vocabulary which he will be able to use in the work environment
Hour 3: using task based learning the student will be able to comfortably have
conversations about affairs around the world in social situations
Hour 4: using the PPP method the student will be able to confidently pronounce
commonly used interview vocabulary which will benefit him in future interviews
Hour 5: using the Tasked based method the student will be better able to watch English
films and documentaries and have discussions with friends at the end
Course Rationale: (700 – 1000 words)
I have chosen the multi-Syllabus as the student needs help with multiple skills this allows for me to use an
appropriate material available. (Sourced from the internet). the activities can be played around with depending on
the students’ progress as we go along, once I see the student needs are, I can focus on where he is still struggling, this
also allows for student to give input as to what he would like to do more of and I will be able to meet his needs
After going through the questionnaire that the student has completed, I found that the topics the student is
interested in are according to his needs and likes such as; Current affairs, environment, Science, Technology and Film.
Using these topics will keep my student motivated and interested in the lessons, thus getting good results. The
syllabus topics include current, environment vocabulary, jobs interview vocabulary as well as how to introduce
yourself with role-playing and a short film with short discussion practice and film review.
The target skills are pronunciation, fluency, listening and speaking. This is in the needs analysis questionnaire and
student is very particular on the skills he needs to improve in. This is what teacher will focus on. We will attach to all
the needs in the syllabus based on students required skills.
The structure of the course will allow the student to contribute in all activities while using the L2. It will allow us to
work on each skill that the student needs focus on in stages to give him enough time to gain confidence he is looking
for concerning the English language.
Vocabulary and Pronunciation (Technical terms and Fluency) : Hour 1 By using the TTT method ,By the end of the
lesson student will be able to use technical English environmental terms in the future as well as learn to speak these
words fluently as well as be aware of their meanings when having conversations with English speaking people. For
homework he will complete a fill in the words worksheet using environmental vocabulary (and listen to a podcast
which he will write a summary on and read it out loud in the next lesson.
Speaking and listening Job Interview : Hour 2 (Fluency, Conversing, Pronunciation):Using the PPP method, By the
end of the lesson student will be able to speak and answer questions in a job interview, he will also be better able to
listen to someone who only speaks English during a conversation by reading interview vocabulary and watching a
short YouTube video. Homework will require student to create a CV.
Listening and speaking :Hour 3 is a task based lesson about Current Affairs around the world: By the end of the
lesson the student will be better able to have conversations about current affair as well as learn to listen for
important information.
Speaking and pronunciation: Hour 4 - (Interview vocabulary) By using the PPP method at the end of the lesson
student will be able to understand and pronounce the most common interview words and
