6. Explanation of the title:

The main character of this book is called Forest Gump, and he tells a story
about his life.

7. Description of the main character:

He isn’t really smart, an idiot. Other people tell him that he does everything
wrong. Although his life is very interesting. When he was a little younger, he
was on high school and in an American-football team. He also becomes a
member in the N.A.S.A. and in the army. He’s a good friend of Jenny, since
primary school. In primary school all the children called Forrest Gump an idiot,
but Jenny didn’t. A long time after that, they fall in love with each other, but
Forrest messed everything up. Jenny saw him with another girl.

8. Beginning: How did the book begin? (Write in your own words)

Forrest Gump and Jenny are in primary school. Forrest’s classmates call him
with other names, especially “idiot”, but Jenny always helped Forrest. But that
didn’t help much, so Forrest had to go to a special school. A couple of years
later, when Forrest and Jenny were both from school, they are both going to the
university. Forrest plays in a football-team again. The coach thinks he’s a very
good player, but he’s not smart enough for the school. So he was kicked of the
university, and from the football-team too.

9. Middle: How did it go on?

After he got kicked out of the university, he went back home. When he got
home his mom starts crying.. He asked his mother what’s wrong, and she gave
him a letter from the army. It says he has to go in the army. In the army he
meets Bubba. Forrest and Bubba become friends. Bubba plays a lot on his
harmonica, and Forrest thinks it’s beautiful, so Bubba gave Forrest his own
