Na replicatie is er een RNA-molecuul gemaakt met de naam pre-RNA
Het pre-RNA bevat nog intronen en exonen.
Een exon is het coderende deel, waaruit je dus een eiwit kunt maken. Een intron is het niet-
coderende deel.
Die introns moeten er dus uit worden geknipt! Plus er komt een kop en een staart.
Dit heet splicing.
Na splicing wordt het RNA-molecuul, mRNA genoemd (messenger-RNA).
Het heeft namelijk het bericht: 'maak dit specifieke eiwit!' Het mRNA verlaat de celkern via
een kernporie en belandt zo in het cytoplasma.
