Problemas Políticos
Platón siempre mostró una gran disconformidad con el sistema político de Atenas ya
que esta presentaba una falsa democracia. Se conoce como falsa a dicha
democracia debido a que tan solo el 12% de los habitantes podía votar en la época,
eran los aristócratas.
Es por esto que el gobernador de Atenas siempre iba a ser un miembro de estos
aristócratas ya que eran ellos mismos los que votaban para que dicho candidato
saliera elegido.
Problemas Económicos
Durante la época que Platón vivió en Atenas, esta se encontraba en una gran crisis
económica. Esta crisis económica se dio debido a dos factores claves:
El gran desarrollo cultural de la ciudad. Mantener un desarrollo de esas
magnitudes costaba muchísimo dinero.
La Guerra del Peloponeso la cual enfrentó a la Liga de Atenas contra la Liga de
Esparta
Esto llevó a Platón a tratar de realizar cambios políticos y económicos en la ciudad
pero sin ningún tipo de éxito.
Cambios Culturales debidos a la Crisis
Escultura
En esta época hubo múltiples cambios en el modelo de escultura.
Se sustituyó el modelo heroico por el modelo naturalista, mostrando los
primeros atisbos de sensualidad
Se sustituyeron las poses quietas por las poses en movimiento
