Introduction
In this assignment, I’m going to illustrate the English legal system in different matters of law;
particularly civil law and criminal law. Furthermore demonstrating the court system regarding
these categories of law clarifies the distinction between these areas of law. Additionally I’m
going to explore the role of the lay people and lawyers in criminal cases as well as explaining
the role of the judges and lawyers in civil cases. However, for the matter of
Comprehending the contrast between these systems, I’m going to compare the fundamental
role of the judges, lawyers, barristers and the lay people within the judicial system.
At the end I’m also going to analyse two different scenarios in a civil and a criminal case in
order to demonstrate a closer perspective of how the Legal system works.

In this statistic anti-social behavior has the majority with 167,731, however it has been reduced
from May 2016 with 169,372 cases. In addition the majority of crimes have been reduced
except theft-shoplifting in which it has increased from 30,084 in May to 30,279 in June 2016.
Secondly the other significant crime was Bike Theft which increased from 7,250 in May to 7,424
in June 2016.
