1. Only use one NIE in a very short sentence.
Eg. Ek drink. Ek drink nie.
2. Use two NIEs in longer sentences.
Eg. Jy is ‘n Einstein. Jy is nie ‘n Einstein nie.
3. Begin an answer to a question with NEE followed by two NIEs.
Eg. Hou jy van die onderwysers? Nee, ek hou nie van die onderwysers nie.
4. Start commands (bevele) with MOENIE & one NIE at the end, after the verb.
Eg. Leer jou werk! Moenie jou werk leer nie!
5. Start a command (incl. Asseblief) with MOET ASSEBLIEF NIE, add the last NIE at the end.
Eg. Skryf assebleif netjies! Moet asseblief nie netjies skryf nie!
