Rugspieren kun je opdelen in 2 soorten:
Autochtone rugspieren = intrinsieke rugspieren
Rugspieren die in de embryonale fase al aan de achterkant van de WVK liggen (diep liggend)
Allochtone rugspieren = extrinsieke rugspieren
Rugspieren die in de embryonale fase aan de voorkant en zijkant van de wervelkolom liggen en
vervolgens gaan migreren naar de achterkant (oppervlakkig)
Verschil wordt bepaald in ontwikkeling van het individu (embryonale fase). Dan worden een aantal van
deze spieren het voorloopweefsel, een gedeelte aan de achterkant en aan de voorkant van deze
spieren neergelegd.

mm. rotatores longi m. rhomboideus

Innervatie
Spinale zenuw takt af naar andere zenuwen. Een deel van de spinale zenuw gaat naar voren en een
deel gaat naar achteren. Aftakking = ramus.
Ramus dorsalis/posterior innerveert spieren die direct aan de achterkant liggen (autochtoon)
Ramus ventralis/anterior innerveert de spieren die daar een laag bovenop liggen (allochtoon)
