• The poem is about a teenage girl who comes home from a difficult and tough day from
school.
• She gets home and kicks off her shoes and flops down on her bed, crying and listening to
the song “The best day” by Taylor Swift.
• Her father sees this and wishes he can take away the pain she is experiencing at school
because of not fitting in and maybe even being bullied.
• The girl then looks outside at the trees and realizes that this difficult phase in her life is
just that – a phase that will pass. Just like a tree loses it leaves and starts a new season –
this difficult season in her life will pass and she will survive this.
