Lijdende vorm
Gebruik van de lijdende vorm (passive):
1. My camera was stolen from my locker at school.
Als het niet duidelijk is wie het onderwerp van de zin is
2. The murderer has been arrested.
Het overduidelijke is wat het onderwerp van de zin is (uit de context of in dit geval de politie)
3. A candle will be lit at the memorial service for the fallen soldier.
Als het niet uitmaakt wie de kaars aansteekt, de nadruk ligt op de actie.
Bedrijvend: A storm destroyed their house.
Lijdend: Their house was destroyed (by a storm).
4 belangrijke stappen:
1. In welke tijd staat de bedrijvende zin?
2. Lijdend voorwerp van de actieve zin wordt onderwerp van de lijdende zin.
3. Voeg een vorm van ‘to be’ toe.
4. Gebruik het hoofdwerkwoord uit de actieve zin om een voltooid deelwoord te maken voor de
lijdende vorm
Present simple:
Sombody cleans te office every day.
1. Tijd is gegeven = present simple
2. Lijdend voorwerp = The office
3. Present simple vorm van to be = am, are, is
4. Hoofdwerkwoord = to clean, wordt voltooid deelwoord + ed.
Lijdende vorm:
The office is cleaned every day by somebody.
Preset continuous:
They are repairing the black bike at the moment
1. Tijd Is gegeven = present continuous
2. Lijdend voorwerp = The black bike
3. Present continuous vorm van to be = am/are/is being
4. Hoofdwerkwoord = to repair, wordt voltooid deelwoord + ed
Lijdende vorm:
The black bike is being repaired at the moment by them.

Past continuous:
They were singing a song in class yesterday

3. Past continious vorm van tob e = was/were being
4. Hoofdwerkwoord = to sing, wordt voltooid deelwoord (onregelmatig werkwoord)
Lijdende vorm
A song was being sung in class yesterday by them.
Present perfect:
They have painted this room blue.
1. Tijd is gegeven = present perfect
2. Lijdend voorwerp = this room
3. Present perfect vorm van to be = has/have been
4. Hoofdwerkwoord = to paint, wordt voltooid deelwoord + ed
Lijdende vorm
This room has been painted blue by them.
Past perfect:
Somebody had painted the door.
1. Tijd is gegeven = past perfect
2. Lijdend voorwerp = the door
3. Past perfect vorm van to be = been

Lijdende vorm:
The door had been painted by somebody
Future (met will):
You will see dolphins here.
