WHAT IS THE POEM ABOUT?
• Die gedig gaan oor ‘n tiener wat met baie probleme by die huis worstel en
homself daardeur probeer navigeer.
The poem is about a teenager navigating himself/herself through life. The speaker experiences
conflict and problems at home as well as resentments from the parents; however, the speaker
keeps the focus and keeps going forward in life even though it is difficult. The eventually reach
the “end” and “freedom” (aka – end of adolescence) and realise that there is til problems to
face; however, they can handle it and are more confident in themselves.
