Hoorcollege 3 hoofdstuk 2Natiestaat = politieke eenheid met afgebakend grondgebied
Samenleving = mensen die in een bepaald gebied leven en een bepaalde cultuur
gemeenschappelijk hebben en hun eigen leefwijze hanteren
Cultuur wordt overgebracht via socialisatie en in stand gehouden door sociale controle. Het is
veranderbaar en bestaat uit materiële en immateriële cultuur. Eigen cultuur is vanzelfsprekend, maar
een vreemde cultuur niet ( = cultuurschok).
Cultuurelementen:
- Symbolen: een verschijnsel met betekenis die herkend wordt
- Taal: set van symbolen om te kunnen communiceren
- Waarden: culturele standaarden over wat goed, fijn is die als algemene richtlijnen gelden
(omschrijving)
- Normen: geschreven of ongeschreven regels over verwachtingen waarmee de samenleving
gedrag van mensen reguleert (uitvoering)
Mores: normen die we in veel situaties kunnen waarnemen en een grote morele
betekenis hebben
