1. kent de basisprincipes van EHBO
De eerste stappen bij een crisissituatie zijn ALTIJD : 1) de situatie bekijken
2) de toestand beoordelen en inschatten 3) hulp roepen of alarmeren en 4)
starten met basic life support (BLS).
Het is belangrijk om eerst altijd de toestand van de slachtoffers in te
schatten. Dit doe je door het bewustzijn en de ademhaling te controleren.
Bewustzijn controleer je door het principe ‘Shout loudly, shake gently’.
Ademhaling controleer je door een kinlift te doen met je wijs- en
middenvinger (niet doen bij vermoeden van wervelletsel!) Ademhaling
controleer je door te horen, kijken en voelen. Je kijkt of de borst op- en
neer gaat, je hoort met je oor boven de mond en je voelt met je oor of er
lucht uitgeademd wordt.
Indien het slachtoffer bij bewustzijn is, maar je het vermoeden hebt dat het
SO bewusteloos zal vallen leg je het SO best preventief in
veiligheidshouding. Dit is een stabiele, zijdelings liggende houding met het
hoofd lichtjes naar achteren gekanteld om de luchtwegen vrij te houden.
Indien het slachtoffer onbewust is, maar nog goed ademt, NIET starten met
reanimatie. Bel indien nodig de hulpdiensten.
Indien het slachtoffer onbewust is en een verstoorde/verminderde
ademhaling heeft, onmiddellijk starten met reanimatie en de hulpdiensten
bellen.
2. kan formuleren welke stappen er ondernomen moeten worden in
een crisissituatie in afwachting van de komst van professionele
hulp.
STAP 1 : situatie bekijken
STAP 2 : toestand, aantal slachtoffers en hun toestand beoordelen
STAP 3 : alarmeren, hulp zoeken en hulpdiensten bellen
STAP 4 : begin met BLS (basic life support) totdat er gestart kan worden
met ALS (advanced life support). Indien mogelijk ook een AED
(automatische externe defibrillator) gebruiken.
3. kan BLS correct uitvoeren.
Voorwaarden voor een goede hartmassage zijn :
- Harde ondergrond
- Goede plaatsbepaling van handen op het lichaam
- Thorax voldoende indrukken (ca. 5 cm)
Reanimeren : 30x hartmassage (100-120sl/min), daarna 2x beademen en
dit herhalen totdat medische hulp arriveert.
