Psychologie vs sociologie: niet het individu maar contact onderling zorgt voor gedrag. Sociologie zou
de psychologische basis van imitatie moeten bestuderen en niet de maatschappij zelf.

Hij bedoelde niet dat de maatschappij immoraal kon worden, want moraal is verbonden met
de maatschappij. Hij was bang dat de mens te zelfgeabsorbeerd werd en dat het moraal
daardoor slecht werd.
Volgens durkheimwas men te gefocust op zijn eigen passie. Hierdoor werd je een slaaf in de
zoektocht naar je eigen gratification waardoor iedereeen alleen maar meer wilt.

het systeem waarin wij leven. Het is anders dan individueel bewustzijn.

Onderzoek ging over waarom de ene maatschappi meer zelf moord had dan de ander. Durkheim ging er van uit
dat social facfts invloed hadden op de zelf doding.
