recidivism and for potential offenders. This essay will discuss the different forms of
punishment and conclude with a closing statement and argument about the topic
of imprisonment.

Imprisonment
Imprisonment is regarded as a form of punishment that acts as way to restrict an
offender’s freedom and interaction with society.
Ordinary imprisonment
This is the form of imprisonment which most individuals are familiar with, and it is

Suspended sentence
