Introduction

The name already reveals it a bit; socialization (you can
recognize the word ‘social’) is the process of learning how
to behave in a way that is acceptable to society, said
differently: the process of learning the norms and values of
society.

, Did you know that there are different stages of socialization? The first stage of
socialization is primary socialization, in this stage a newborn/young individual learns the
basic things of his/her social environment.

The second stage of socialization is secondary socialization. In this stage, you learn the
norms and values of a bigger society like school. So at primary socialization, you learn to
behave in a smaller circle like your family, but in each stage after that you get to learn
the norms and values of bigger societies.

The third stage is adult socialization. In this stage it teaches adults to do new duties, the
goal of this stage is to change the point of view of an individual, so at each stage your
social environments grow and you get to know the different norms and values of these
bigger social environments.

With this project we will not only try to explain what socialization is. We will also look at
what socialization means for us individuals, but also for us as a group. We will look at
how socialization is a part of every single life, and we will look how socialization has
changed our social environment, but also how we are dealing with it.
