Bestudeer het hoofdstuk van Harrison en Shirom (1999) met het daarin gepresenteerde
diagnostische kader en vervolgens de tekst van van Jonker (1990) waarin hij enkele
diagnosemodellen presenteert en aangeeft hoe organisatiediagnose-modellen samenhangen met
organisatiediagnose-instrumenten.
Opdracht B: Perspectieven op "tijd"
Bestudeer verder het artikel van Voelpel et al. (2004) en beargumenteer vanuit welk paradigma
de auteurs redeneren. (Denk aan modernistisch/postmodernistisch, being/becoming, of:
episodisch/continue verandering). In dit artikel gaan Voelpel en zijn collega's in op de vraag hoe
organizational Fitness gemeten kan worden. Volgens Voelpel et al. (2004) kan organizational
fitness gedefinieerd worden als: "an organization’s ability to adapt and survive in the ever-
changing business environment, and this is achieved through natural evolution, purposeful
change and continuous learning" (p. 128). Het model gaat uit van het principe dat organisaties
open systemen zijn, en dus continue interacteren met de omgeving. In het artikel wordt ingegaan
op de kenmerken van het organizational fitness-model (Beer, 2003), en hoe dit gemeten kan
worden.
Opdracht C: Perspectieven op je eigen PVS
Vergelijk na het bestuderen van de eerdergenoemde bronnen de modellen (diagnose-
instrumenten) die je tegen bent gekomen aan de hand van de volgende vragen (Jonker, 1990, p.
199):
1. Visie op de organisatie: Hoe wordt in dit instrument tegen organisaties aangekeken?
Wat is de achterliggende theoretische organisatieopvatting?
2. Doel van het instrument: Waar richt het instrument zich op? Denk hierbij aan: soorten
problemen, welk aggregatieniveau (individu, groep, organisatie, omgeving etc.), welke
aspecten van de organisationele werkelijkheid?
3. Opbouw van het instrument: Hoe zit het instrument in elkaar? Wat is het conceptuele
model waar het diagnose model op geënt is? Wat zijn de belangrijkste elementen,
hoofdbestanddelen?
4. Werkwijze: Hoe moet er met het model gewerkt worden? Is er een fasering,
doorlooptijd? Hoe gaat gegevensverzameling en- analyse en wie doet dat, hoe vindt de
beoordeling plaats?
5. Uitkomsten: wat komt er uit de diagnose? Resultaten, ‘producten’, uitkomsten?
