Intramusculaire injectie1) Voorbereiden patiënt:
- Stel jezelf voor met naam en functie
- Vraag de naam en de geboortedatum van de patiënt
- Vertel wat je komt doen, de werkwijze en het ongemak
- Vertel hoelang het gaat duren

- Vraag of de patiënt of hij/zij nog vragen heeft

2) Benodigdheden:
- Desinfecteer handen
- Desinfecteer werkveld met alcohol en controleer
- Naaldencontainer
- Bekkentje
- Handschoenen
- Afvalzak
- Alcohol doekje
- Medicatie
- Spuit
- Optreknaald
- Injectienaald (lang)
- Pleister
- Gaasje 5x5
3) Voorbereiding:
- Controleer de medicatie en de houdbaarheidsdatum, ook van de naalden
- Hang het afvalzakje op
- Trek handschoenen aan
- Desinfecteer de medicatie
- Open alle verpakkingen
- Plaats de optreknaald op de spuit
- Tik tegen de bovenkant om de vloeistof uit de dop te halen en open het medicijn met
het gaasje
- Controleer het medicijn
- Trek de juiste dosering in de spuit
- Controleer de spuit op luchtbellen en op dosering (gebruik een gaasje)
- Verwijder de optreknaald en plaats de injectienaald op de spuit
- Dubbel check
- Pas de regel van 5 toe:
o Juiste patiënt
o Juiste medicatie
o Juiste dosering
o Juiste toedienwijze
o Juiste tijdstip
