Models of Behaviour Change

Unit 8: Promoting Health Behaviour

Change4life

As this campaign have targeted a certain group to focus on, so keeping that in mind, the aims and
objectives are relatively appropriate for the groups, so they can efficiently and effectively use it, such
as for the families which includes peers (parents/guardians) and the children (aged under 11). Their
objectives are to ensure that everyone could access to the social marketing programmes and
participate them, and they hope everyone who are vulnerable to obesity join this programme but
mainly the targeted group as they are at the higher risk such as children, and as they are underage,
they cannot take better decisions for themselves, for which they have included families/parents, as
they would be able to take better decisions for themselves and include the suggested lifestyle by the
campaign, as they would be responsible for the child upbringing, so this campaigns objective is to
support those who needs it the most. Such as parents, as this campaign educates the parents about
healthy alternatives, for which they have also developed an app, as through scanning into that app,
they would immediately get the better option to buy, this would be easier for families that does not
have any financial issue, as they would also initially tend to buy healthy foods easily, but for the
families who have financial issues, through the app, they may also get the cheaper options. Their
extended objectives are to ensure that the families effectively take the benefit of their campaign’s
resources such as their handbooks, questionnaires, wall charts, and social media content.

These resources are there to support the people, as these contains all the basic and important
information, such as through questionnaires the campaign managements would be able to gather
data about people current health, and this would support them to include any latest inventions to
change the behaviour of the people and also acknowledge what effected their mind to have
unhealthy lifestyle and does not give any affords to change their behaviour. Its aim/objective is to
change the healthy behaviour of people and also that they follow a lifestyle which is efficient, such as
which includes, good sleeping pattern, exercise, healthy food, walks, good quantity of water each
day, meditation, self-care. They want the people to live a healthy life, that would also then impact on
their intellectual/cognitive, and social development, such as more confident, energetic, active, and
happy. The campaign slogan describes all the essential aims they want from the targeted audience,
which is Eat well, Move more, Live longer. This shows their concern for the people who are obese
and supports them through creating resources as stated earlier, and they want to people to take
benefit of this campaign, as they need it, according to the sources, there is an increasing rate of
obesity in the country. Its objective is to also address the certain factors of one’s lifestyle and support
them accordingly. They want people to have a healthy weight and also maintain it throughout their
life, by following a better lifestyle and make it a habit. They hope that the parents build this healthy
lifestyle for their children and build a strategy/standard of a life which is healthy (even if they have
any monetary issues, they can still buy foods that are healthy, as healthy foods are cheap and easy to
buy then any junk/unhealthy foods). They hope that parents are providing their children with foods
which will not build fatty tissues in their bodies, send them to exercise classes which are for children,
of they do not afford this, they can ask their friends, family members and neighbours to collaborate
and make a group of every children under 11 (can be above 11 as well, as being healthy is the right
behaviour for everyone) and make all the children do exercise at least 30-45 minutes for 3-5 days a
week. They can hire a trainer and contribute the money. By this every children would be able to get a
healthy hour, along with this, the parents are also expected to keep an eye on the children diet, such

, as make them food which is fun and healthy, such as brownies with dark chocolate and use brown
sugar (can make this once or twice a month) or any sugary foods should be potentially reduced but
when they ask for it, make a recipe which has all the healthy ingredients, such as oat cakes. Make
something from fruits. Like fruits popsicles.

The government health policy also wants the nation to live a life that is immensely educated about
healthy lifestyle and want people to opt for a lifestyle that included factors that would make them
intellectually strong and also the research was done by the government which allowed the campaign
to be introduced to support to reduce this factor in the nation. This is how it also links to the
campaign, as observing the increasing rate of obesity in the nation, which was high in children under
11, they built this campaign to support those who were not valuing the importance of their own
health, such as the parents are responsible for this change in the children lives. As they have the
management of bringing and building healthy lifestyle to the family. This campaign educates people
about the nutritious foods and recipes, also wants the families to reduce the intake of foods are
damaging their health such as oily food, sugary items, processed food, very cold food (they should
try to eat at room temperature or warm).

The targeted audience is the families/parents and the children under 11. As according to the
research, it emphasised that were children getting objected to be obese and overweight/unhealthy
lifestyle, which also comes with lots of implications, such as diseases build-up at early age, such as
type 2 diabetes, respiratory issues, cancers, heart problems. Also, personal implications such as
laziness, slow cognitive thinking, distractions from schoolwork’s, less social interactions, on phone
often. These would affect their future, as they would not be able to get a good career and salaries, if
they do not focus on education/school. As children will grow as adults and then run the nation by
spreading into diverse jobs, but when they would not have a strong intellectual, that can also risk the
nation in the future, as due to the implications comes with obesity. To have an individual who is
active, energetic, intellectually strong, creative, productive, healthy. Parents need to build a lifestyle
which will turn into a habit in the future, this lifestyle should daily exercise, healthy food alternatives,
physical activities, such as physical games, ask them to hover around the house, clean their own
room, hove the garden (under peers supervision), play badminton/football with then in the
summers, send them to indoor games activities, take them to the council events as they conducts
physical activities for the children.

Such activities will keep them active and also give them chance to learn and develop skills. As when
the families/peers would have the knowledge about what is healthy to eat, that is also fun for the
children, these learnings would spread across itself, such as they would discuss it with their friends
who may be having a child soon, or correct the ones who are doing it wrong, also once healthy
lifestyle is the children habit, they are more likely to continue it throughout their life and also
transfer the teachings to their children, there may be some new inventions by then, but the
foundation of acknowledging healthy lifestyle would stay the same. It is more for children to learn,
when they see their peers following the same habit, they would be more invested and interested
only when they would experience this by their families. Involve them while cooking meals, as this
would build their interest in knowing the food, and also, they would excitedly eat that food, as they
would believe that they made it by doing hard work in it. There is a sport clubs by this campaign, that
allows the children to join it and have the physical activity’s part contributed by this. It was
introduced in 2011. This club worked in the best interest for the children, such as by evaluating the
needs of them, getting inspired from the Olympics games, that are known to have the best exercise
and physical movements, they also worked to change the behaviour instance of diet, such as told
