INSERCIÓN: Tracto ilio-tibial (banda gruesa de fascia profunda que desciende por la
cara lateral del muslo)
FUNCIÓN: Estabiliza las articulaciones coxofemorales y de la rodilla haciendo la
rotación interna del muslo y rotación externa de la pierna.
INERVACIÓN: Nervio glúteo superior (L4-S1)
GLÚTEO MAYOR
ORIGEN: Cara posterolateral del sacro y cóccix, cara glútea del ilion, fascia
toracolumbar y ligamento sacro tuberoso.
INSERCIÓN: Tracto ilio-tibial, tuberosidad glútea del fémur
FUNCIÓN: Articulación coxofemoral: Extensión, rotación lateral, abducción (abrir)
(parte superior) y aducción (cerrar) de muslo (parte inferior)
INERVACIÓN: Nervio glúteo inferior (L5-S2)
GLÚTEO MEDIO:
ORIGEN: Cara glútea del ilion
INSERCIÓN: Cara lateral del trocánter mayor del fémur
FUNCIÓN: Articulación de la cadera: Abducción(abrir), rotación medial (porción
anterior), estabilización de la pelvis
INERVACIÓN: Nervio glúteo superior (L4, S1)

ORIGEN: Cara glútea del ilion
