Edmond est sacré roi des Anglais, sous le nom
d'Edmond 1er.

Mort d'Olaf Gothfrithson un roi Viking de Dublin,
depuis 934, qui arrive à York en 939, qui envahit le
nord-est de la Mercie en 940, et reçoit par un traité
conclu à Leicester entre lui et Edmond 1er, la région des
cinq bourgs, c'est à dire, les villes de Derby, Leicester,
Nottingham, Lincoln, Stamford.
