1. Geschiedenis.
1.1. Algemeen.
Druggebruik is van alle tijden
Komt voor bij vele volkeren (uitgezonderd bep. Pygmeestammen in Afrika)
Gebruik voor recreatieve en/of therapeutische doeleinden
Melding druggerelateerde problemen in Westerse wereld vanaf de industriële revolutie
1.2. Situatie in Vlaanderen.
1960: Oprichting Instituut voor Alcohol en Toxicomaniëen (IAT) => focus op alcohol
1970: Toenemend aantal misbruik van illegale drugs onder invloed van ‘flowerpower’-
beweging: cannabis, ook heroïne
1973: Oprichting De Pelgrim
1974: Oprichting TG De Sleutel (democratische therapeutische gemeenschap)
1976: Oprichting TG De Kiem (hiërarchische therapeutische gemeenschap)
1990: Oprichting initiatieven oa straathoekwerk en Medisch Sociaal Opvangcentrum (MSOC)
Laagdrempelige hulpverlening (paradigmaverschuiving)
2017: Vakgroep Orthopedagogiek HoGent sterk in wetenschappelijk onderzoek over het
volledig spectrum van preventie en nazorg
2020: °SUPRB = Substance Use and Psychological Risk Behaviours (aan HoGent)
2. Begrippenkader.
Drugs = verzamelnaam voor alle stoffen die een invloed uitoefenen op de manier waarop men zich
gedraagt, het denken, zijn gevoelens en de wijze waarop zaken worden waargenomen.

voorkomen.
3 vormen:
- Universeel: gericht op grote groep (zowel gebruikers als niet-gebruikers)
- Selectief
- Geïndiceerd: gericht op personen met beginnende klachten en voorkomt dat beginnende
klachten leiden tot een aandoening.
ABSTINENTIEBENADERING = drugvrije behandeling.
