Comments / Observation/ Feedback/ Afterthoughts:
As this was the first session, I anticipated many problems in order to accommodate everyone’s needs, wishes, desires including those of the staff
who may have been reticent to engage as this was a somewhat unknown quantity to them.
Over-all I would say the session was over-planned to accommodate or anticipate the speed of the lesson, however this isn’t necessarily a bad
thing as it can provide a starting place for the next week’s session.
I think I need to relax a little more and not be so risk averse and allow the children some more “free-play” opportunities.
Further reflection enables me to say I would try to be less prescriptive and encourage more collection and discovery with experience 3 &
encourage more collection / discussion of explored items with a recap of rules and expected behaviour. Id also build up a stock of spare clothes
to deal with unanticipated “accidents” or changes in weather conditions.

Comments / Observation/ Feedback/ Afterthoughts:
Routines from last week seem to be emerging regarding help with session equipment and where participants can visit whilst in the FS area –
boundaries are obviously beginning to emerge.
Participants appeared to respond well to this session. I need to be conscious of children waving their wands in other childrens faces to ensure we
don’t lose any eyeballs along the way.
Perhaps as a facilitator (and staff being willing to do so!) we could dress up in costumes that support the theme and if eating food prepared on
the fire we could also give it theme names; Hot chocolate could be “puddle mud” bread could be “toadstool toast”. I need to consider an
alternative area for children who do not wish to engage in any of the experiences.
