• Expectoración de sangre que proviene de las vías aéreas.• Precedida por cosquilleo laringotraqueal, luego tos.
• Color rojo rutilante (sangre oxigenada) y puede tener burbujas por su contenido
aéreo. La reacción es alcalina.
Diagnósticó diferencial
• HEMATEMESIS: sangre proveniente del aparato digestivo, casi siempre producida
por un vómito, color rojo negruzco y la reacción es ácida.
• EPISTAXIS: sangre roja, sin tos y fácilmente visible a través de las narinas o por
vía nasal posterior
• GINGIVORRAGIA: sangre roja de reacción alcalina, emana de encías enrojecidas,
edematosas, en ocasiones supuradas.
