,Je kan gedragstherapie identificeren met deze uitspraak.

Mensen in een confrontatie brengen die men niet in het dagelijkse
leven tegenkomt. Al men deze aan kan, zal men het dagelijkse leven
ook aankunnen.

Gedrag = elke betekenisvolle respons op een betekenisvolle situatie.
Het enige wat daarbuiten valt zijn reflexen (vb: dokter die met
hamertje op knie slaat). Reflexen zijn niet gericht op het bereiken van
een bepaald doel. Daarom heet dit vak enkel gedragstherapie en niet
cognitieve gedragstherapie. Cognitie is ook gedrag.

, Elke gedragstherapeut gaat op een andere manier te werk. Ze hebben
een eigen stijl, opleiding, opvatting, ervaring … De interactie is telkens
anders. Maar toch zijn er ook gelijkenissen. Deze gelijkenissen zijn er
doordat elke therapeut een bepaald stappenplan doorloopt (het
gedragstherapeutisch proces).

Dit zouden de eerste minuten kunnen zijn uit een nieuwe opgestarte
therapie.
