De titel past goed bij het verhaal, in het begin lees je over hoe het open raam en de huisleutel die zij
nodig heeft om naar binnen te komen in haar eigen huis, een domino effect veroorzaken voor de rest
van haar leven. De raam en sleutel komen vaak terug als de begin momenten van waar het fout ging
in het leven van Hannah. Het genre is een Psychologische roman.
