1.introduction
In this assignment, I will describe a website's purpose and compare the principles of web design such
as usability, simplicity, navigation, typography, site layout, accessibility, and compatibility. At the end
I will Analyze and evaluate which one is the best and why.
,1.1 background
It is important to have a good background for a website to sell their item and make a profit. This will
also increase the business and will attract a high number of viewers.
1.2 Purpose
A website is a set of web browsers and related content that is uploaded on at least one web server
and given a similar domain name. There are many reasons to design a website such as to sell
products, services, provide services, information, and entertainment.
The Next website and JD website are examples of good E-commerce websites as its strategy is to
target and communicate with customers about their brand. The mission of the Next website is to
provide superbly crafted, ethically sourced, and affordably priced clothes, home goods, and beauty
products while also enhancing shareholder value through long-term, sustainable growth in earnings.
In contrast JD is a sport retailer website that offers a wide selection of items, a safe shopping
environment, quality, and services on extensive selections of men's, women's, and children's trainer
and footwear that are exclusively available from JD.
1.3 2.0 websites
Both websites are 2.0 websites as it allows users to express themselves by giving feedback on the
product. An advantage of using website 2.0 is that it is available at any time and place. However, in
my opinion both websites are mostly also 1.0 websites as it does not allow people to upload pictures
and videos to express themselves with others.
1.4 Target audience
Target audience is the percentage of customers toward whom enterprises or companies focus their
marketing efforts to increase public knowledge of their goods and services.
Next website has the following target group is primarily female viewers in their 30s. Over the past
three years, the next website has likewise increased online sales. Similarly, JD also has a higher
percentage of female viewers on their website.

fundamental criteria for designing interfaces and layouts.
2.1 Navigation
The process of clicking and browsing through online resources, such as the numerous pages that
make up a website, is known as website navigation. Using a web browser, users can traverse
websites by clicking on links that take them to different pages.
Before developing a website, we also need to think about the navigation. Every website needs
navigation because nobody likes complexity. Customers can find what they are looking for with the
aid of navigation. The navigation bar needs to be clear and legible since visitors will give up and look
elsewhere if the website navigation is difficult. Both sites are designed similarly as they have a
legible navigation bar at the top that is straight forward to see which this makes a good web design.
However, the only thing that bothers me about JD website is that the navigation bar is that they left
a wide blank spot in the middle. Both websites also have featured a readable navigation bar at the
top, which is an indication of effective web design. Both websites provide a variety of products for
