Sources of Error and Improvements
There are many sources of errors that can be found in the experiment, which
could have a signifcant efect on the results of the experiment and make it very
inaccurate and imprecise. These errors could be improved if the experiment was
to be redone, and I will be suggesting improvements that can be done. These
can be found in the list below.
Incomplete defnition
Due to the vague, short and very complicated method steps, it is very possible
that there was misinterpretation and that there were some mistakes that took
place. This means that every person who did the experiment will do it a bit
diferently. And this means that there is a lot of room for error in the method.
And I believe that I could have made a lot of errors too.
Human error
Human Error is a very possible as there is a lot of instances where I could have
made mistakes that I am unaware of. Human error is mistakes made by
carelessness or by factors like colour blindness that a human cant control but
may have varying afects on the results. These can be missing vital parts of the
experiment that would be important to make them correct or they can be things
like not seeing the endpoint colours correctly due to slight colour blindness.
Inaccurate instruments
Inaccuracy of instruments and inaccurate usage of them can be a big issue as it
can make measurements very far from being exact. Incorrect usage can meant
that the results are very inaccurate and/or they will be completely wrong. The
instruments can be outdated and not ft the experiment well or can be wrong
altogether.
Improvement
This can be fxed by double checking readings and/or upgrading the
equipment so that the possibility of mismeasurement and misreading is ruled
out. This will mean that the results are more precise as the equipment won’t
be giving false readings.
Insufficient instruments
Our school scales measure to only 2 decimal places which means that the results
will not be a rounded of to the closest tenth which isn’t precise to get the actual
