Wij leugenaarsJarenlang brengt de familie Sinclair de zomer door op hun eiland, Beachwood. Het eiland heeft vier
vakantiehuizen. Eén huis voor de ouders en drie huizen voor hun drie dochters. Cadence is de
dochter van een van de drie Sinclair-dochters en samen met haar neef Johnny, nicht Mirren en een
goede vriend Gat vormen ze samen de groep de Leugenaars. Iedere zomer brengen ze met elkaar
door. Tot dat er in zomer 15 een vreselijk ongeluk gebeurt en Cadence last krijgt van vreselijke
migraineaanvallen en geheugenverlies en mag pas in zomer 17 terug naar het eiland. Cadence
herinnert zich niets meer van het ongeluk en ze probeert er achter te komen wat er die zomer is
voorgevallen, maar haar familie wil er niet over praten, dus moet ze er zelf achter zien te komen.
