Oorlog zonder vriendenHet verhaal speelt zich af in de Tweede Wereldoorlog in een gemeente in de buurt
van Utrecht en is geschreven vanuit het perspectief van Arnold, die gepest word
omdat de vader van Arnold een fanatieke NSB-er is en Arnold is lid van de
Jeugdstorm. Arnold gelooft heilig in wat zijn vader hem vertelt over hoe goed de
Duitsers zijn, maar als Arnold het illegale krantje ‘vrij Nederland’ in Marloes haar
tas ziet zitten en het besluit te pakken en te lezen begint hij te twijfelen aan de
Duitse-propaganda en over de woorden van zijn vader. Hij kan hier alleen met
niemand over praten.
Ik vind Oorlog zonder vrienden zeker een aanrader om te lezen, omdat
oorlogsboeken meestal geschreven worden vanuit het perspectief van
verzetshelden of mensen die tegen de Duitsers zijn en niet vanuit een NSB-er. Ook
vond ik het fijn dat er spannende stukjes in zaten, maar niet te veel.
