Throughout this unit, I have been asked to create a new section for the company’s web site which promotes the company to prospective
employees’, as they need to recruit more web developers. I tried to make everything modern, simple, easy to use and most importantly, help
visitors find the content they’re looking for quickly, without fuss. I put a large navigation bar at the top, which remains there consistently
whichever section of the site you go to, so if you are unclear on where to go or what to look for, you can always use it. If not, there’s a search bar
at the right top of the page so in case you can’t find what you are looking for, you can type it and all results will come up for you. I also put the
contact info at the bottom left of every single page of the website and social media on the bottom right.
However, not everything was done so easily. I had to do a lot of improvements throughout this unit and I feel like I could’ve still done it much
better if I was given more time to develop this website. One of the first improvements I had to make, was the logo. When I finished creating it, I
didn’t put the most important feature a website should have, and that is linking back the logo to the homepage when clicked. I also believe that I
could’ve done much better the logo and make it look even more professional if I had more time.
The first page of the website is the home page. In this page I started by building the logo “Hot Beans Web” and I used a hyperlink to enable
visitors to when clicking on it, come back to the main page. I started also by using a GIF, but then I changed it to a video, which made it look
more professional and it also lets visitors know what we are looking for.
I put a large navigation bar at the top, which remains there consistently whichever section of the site you go to, so if you are unclear on where to
go or what to look for, you can always use it. If not, there’s a search bar at the right top of the page so in case you can’t find what you are
looking for, you can type it and all results will come up for you.
I also put the contact info at the bottom left of the page so if visitors want to contact us, they can call us on that number or drop us an email. If
not, the contact us page is also available, and they’ll have to fill a form to get in contact with us.
Another thing they specified really well was the theme, colours and layout. I tried to make them stay consistent on every page in order to make
the website appear professional and genuine.
The ‘about’ page provides users with information they might like to know about the company and its location. It will be useful for people
applying for the job as it will give them some background knowledge on the business before an interview. I also included in this page the
