Verslag 4. — Medicijn per subcutane infusietoedienen.
Subcutane infusie is het per subcutane naald toedienen van medicijnen en vocht in het subcutane
weefsel. Het medicijn wordt vanuit het subcutane weefsel opgenomen in het bloed en verder
verspreid door het hele lichaam.
Je brengt de vleugelnaald in het onderhuids bindweefsel (subcutis) in, bijvoorbeeld in de buik of
de bovenarm. De vloeistof wordt vanuit de subcutis in het bloed opgenomen en vanuit daar
verspreid door het hele lichaam. Subcutane infusie wordt vaak ingezet in de palliatieve fase, bij
insulinegebruik en bij verzwakte zorgvragers met een vochttekort.
Het doel van het geven van een subcutaan infuus kan zijn: het geven van pijnbestrijding,
bijvoorbeeld morfine, of het geven van insuline per insulinepomp.

Er zijn verschillende manieren waarop je subcutane infusie kunt toepassen:
• vocht toedienen (hypodermoclyse);
• continu medicijnen toedienen;
• intermitterend medicijnen toedienen.

Hypodermoclyse
Hypodermoclyse is het toedienen van vocht per subcutane infusie met een vleugelnaald om een
(dreigend) vochttekort of verstoorde elektrolytenbalans te corrigeren. In de praktijk zijn het
vooral mensen die palliatief worden behandeld en kwetsbare ouderen die hypodermoclyse
krijgen. Het doel is het verbeteren van de conditie of het verlengen van het leven. Mogelijke
infuusvloeistoffen zijn:
• fysiologisch zout (NaCl 0,9%);
• glucose;
• een combinatie van fysiologisch zout en glucose.
Continu medicijnen toedienen
Medicijnen continu toedienen doe je met een (draagbare) spuitenpomp of infuuspomp, zoals de
CADD Solis Vip®. Het continu toedienen van medicijnen kan verschillende doelen hebben, zoals:
• pijnbestrijding;
• symptoombestrijding zoals angst, misselijkheid, jeuk of onrust.
