Creatinine komt van de spieren en wordt uit het lichaam gefilterd door de nieren. Met dit
experiment werd gekeken of de creatinineklaring van patiënt A aan de juiste waarden zou
voldoen. Hiervoor is de Jaffé methode gebruikt. De verwachting was dat de patiënt onder de
geschikte waarde zit, aangezien de patiënt al nierproblemen had. Om dit aan te tonen
werden er creatininestandaarden gemaakt om het creatininegehalte in de onbekende
monsters te bepalen. De stoffen die worden gebruikt bij het kleuren van de monsters en
standaarden zijn: picrinezuur en natronloog. De concentratie van het urinemonster is 5263
μmol/L en van het bloedmonster 79,89 μmol/L. Hiermee kan de creatinineklaring worden
berekend, dit was 90,58 ml/minuut. Hieruit kan worden geconcludeerd dat patiënt A niet
voldoet aan het normale gehalte van minimaal 100 ml/minuut. In een vervolgonderzoek kan
er worden gekeken naar andere manieren om de nierfunctie te meten.
