Businesses need to be able to target their products at diferent types of target groups because if
they want to make proftt then they need to ft the customer’s needs and make their products ft for
the purpose intended. Businesses can target their products to diferent target groups in diferent
ways; gendert social classt aget lifestyle etc. Below are six diferent products (fie business to
consumer products and one business to business product) that haie diferent target groups and are
segmented in terms of Demographict Psychographic and Geographic segmentation.

Apple - iPhone 7 (Business to Consumer)




The iPhone 7 is a product newly deieloped by Apple which was launched on the 16 th of September
2016. The iPhone 7 gathered a lot of atention from Apple’s customers due to the features that were
included in the iPhone 7t compared to the preiious iersions of Apple’s iPhones. For examplet one of
the iPhone 7’s unique features were that it was waterprooft which drew atention to the public
because a waterproof smartphone has neier been released onto the current market before.

Apple’s products are iery popular in the technology market and worldwidet but the iPhone 7 has a
specifc target audience in comparison to Apple’s other products. The iPhone 7 is demographically
aimed at mainly teenagers and customers in their 20’s. Althought the iPhone 7 can also be aimed at
teenagers because it fts the future trends and is specifcally aimed at young people. Alsot the iPhone
7 aimed at both genders as there are diferent colours that Apple ofer for diferent customers. In
terms of social classt the iPhone 7 is aimed at mainly the middle to upper class customers in terms of
social class. In terms of Psychographic segmentationt Apple aim their iPhone7 product to customers
who use technology ofen because if the types of customers who use technology a lot purchase
Apple’s products then it will become useful to them. Geographicallyt Apple’s products are not
worried about geographical areast as long they’re located internationally and in a country that is
economically stable.

The iPhone 7 has to be aimed at diferent types of target groups because they need to segment the
market in order to atract all types of customers and make them satisfed with Apples products so
they can make more profts and increase their market share. In order to do thist they need to
adiertise their products using diferent types of media. For instancet Apple adiertise their products
on TVt YouTube and the Internet.
