Anticipated problems: 1) Some students may not be able to pronounce certain animal
names properly at first, 2) some students may not recognize certain animal sounds.
Solutions: 1) As soon as the lesson is complete students will have a better understanding
of the pronunciation of the words. 2) Activity material (CD Player with animal sounds,
flash cards & animal posters) will assist the student in recognizing which sound matches
with which animal.
Vocabulary: Farm, cow, moo, chicken, cluck, dog, woof, cat, meow, duck, quack, Horse,
neigh, pig, oink, sheep, baa, Barn, grass, farmer, milk, eggs, meat, wool, leather, field,

Lesson Focus: The focus of this lesson is to learn and identify farm animals and what
they produce for the farmers.
Lesson Objective: Students will be able to name and identify different farm animals.
They will be able to describe what food or product each animal contributes to the farm.
They will be able to recognize animal sounds and match them to the correct animal.
Materials:
- Flash cards (Farm, cow, Horse, Donkey, chicken, dog, cat, duck, pig, sheep, Barn,
farmer, milk, eggs, meat, wool, leather)
- Songs: to play different animal sounds & “Old Mcdonald had a farm”

paste the animal onto the empty blocks on poster sheet, color in sheet, farm
maze activity.
