In this document, I have covered what Virgin is as a business, what recruiting and
selecting is and how Virgin do it successfully. I have also covered the advantages
and disadvantages of Virgins recruiting and selection process.

Virgin, has a growth investor spanning in multiple sectors: Travel and Leisure,
Health and wellbeing, Music and entertainment, Telecom and media, financial
service.

, The business was founded in 1967, by Richard Branson also known as the British
entrepreneur born on 18 July 1950, with him selling magazines at the age of 15.
Now he runs his own company with over 60,000+ employees working for Virgin
today with a motto of “nothing ventured; nothing gained.”. Although, they sell in
countries such as: USA, UK/Europe, Canada, Indonesia/Thailand, South Africa,
South America, Singapore, UAE/ Saudi Arabia, and Australia. Virgins' objectives
are to change businesses for good, their values are what keep their people,
products and partners on the right path.




The products Virgin sells are: Banking, Books, Commercial aviation, Commercial
spaceflight, Consumer electronics, Films, Healthcare, Internet, Jewlery, Mobile
phones, Music, Radio, Rail, Transport, Retail, and Travel.
Approximately 71,000 people work at Virgin today and that number increases
day by day. It is also good to know that Virgin had 140 outlets all over the world
in 2016. However, 53 outlets had to be closed which was due to the COVID-19
outbreak leading offices and outlets to closed.
The total revenue of Virgin is £5.17 billion in 2019 however the number still
increases till this day. Also, with a net worth of £16.6 billion.

Recruitment and selection

Recruitment, is the process of finding people to work for a business, like how
Virgin go through stages to recruit the right staff for the right job
Selection refers to the methods to choose the best or the most suitable for the
vacancy. Such as, Virgin doing several stages of the recruitment to see if
candidates are good for the job.

Workforce planning is the process of analyzing and planning a workforce's needs
and demands, assessing gaps to ensure the organization has the right people.
