Tour operators ofer diferent type of products and services to a wide variety of customers(mass ma
with diferent needs. Before a tour operator creates holiday to the customer they need to always
consider and be aware of what type of people will buy these holidays. There are tour operators tha
specialise in either inbound, outbound and domestic holidays and they ofer holidays such as speci
holidays or mass market holidays.
Inbound holidays are when visitors are travelling/visiting the UK from abroad. In 2015 there was a
36.115 million of visitors from overseas. Inbound tourist are extremely important for the UK tourism
they contribute the most to the economy more than domestic visitors. UK inbound helps to identify
needs their customers by having a website (http://www.ukinbound.org/) which provides them with
about diferent accommodation providers, tourist information centres, visitor attraction or restaura
lot of overseas travel agents are members of the UK inbound group. For example a London based
company is e.g. the Caan Holiday which is a well recognised travel agent/tour operator which ma
specialises in tailor-made UK inbound and European tours. Majority of Caan’s Holiday customers ar
from the East in the Asian continent from countries such as China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia or Singap
The tour operator mainly targets to solo travellers who want to discover/explore the UK’s culture an
heritage.
Outbound holidays are when people that live in the UK travel aboard to other countries. Many peo
from the UK decide to travel outbound to warm countries such as Spain or Greece. Thomas Cook
example of a tour operator that ofer outbound holidays to destinations such as Italy, Cyprus, Malta
