Zorginformatie en daaraan gerelateerd informatiestandaarden slaan de brug tussen het
zorgproces en ICT. In het ontwikkelproces van informatiestandaarden is het dan ook
belangrijk dat met zorgverleners, cliënten en met ICT-specialisten wordt samengewerkt. Het
is belangrijk dat er op verschillende niveaus afspraken worden gemaakt.




Hierboven is de indeling in interoperabiliteitsniveaus en de bijbehorende context opgedeeld
in governance, standaarden en eisen en participanten.
Interoperabiliteitsniveau; Organisatie, proces, informatie, applicaties en infrastructuur.

,Zorgpartijen moeten afspraken maken welke gegevens worden vastgelegd en uitgewisseld
en van welke terminologie gebruik gemaakt wordt. In een informatiestandaard is dit
eenvoudig.
Informatiestandaard = Een standaard waarin is uitgewerkt welke gegevens uit het
primaire proces worden geregistreerd, hoe deze gegevens zijn
gecodeerd in een door de partijen in het zorgveld geaccepteerd
terminologie- of codestelsel en op welke wijze de
informatiebehoefe is vertaald in elektrische
uitwisselingsspecifcaties. Het bestaat uit verschillende
onderdelen;
o Use cases  Slaan een brug tussen de zorgwereld en de informatie
technische wereld.
o Datasets  Verzameling van alle gegevens die in het zorgproces vastgelegd,
ingezien dan wel uitgewisseld moeten kunnen worden.
o Terminologie- en codestelsel
o Communicatiestandaarden




Het ontwikkelingsproces bestaat uit drie fasen;
